Whats In A Name....
Had a no travelling few days in the last week and this is why. Approaching the first lock at Audlem we spied a lady doing some sign writing on a NB so I yelled cross the canal that we needed some doing. With a four day wait until it could be started Leonie and me decided to carry on to Market Drayton rather than sit in one place, 20 locks there, 20 locks back, 20 locks to get back to where we were. So after our return and over a stretch of four nights and days working in with the weather we have a visible name. We had tried to arrange Signwriting with a couple of other business along the way but I must say their service and client care amounted to a pile of Shit. Jane who did our job was so oblidging and consciensous it was great to deal with a Real person.
What can you say about English Weather?, 10.45pm and the sun just gone down....
Starboard side....
Port side, the side panels are not the same size.....
Back in Audlum so the Shroppie Fly seemed like a good idea...
The Narrow Boat shaped Bar....
On our way south again finally passing new territory, the cutting approaching the 5 Tyrley Locks ......
Approaching the 1st lock, 4th in line we were, see the solid rock the canal was cut into.......
Over hanging loading bay at an Ex chocolate factory......chocolate was narrow boated to the Bournville factory on the Worcester and Birmingham canal....
Now used as a mooring and workshop site...
Sign writing off the tow path side is easy, then go round the other side and work out of a dingy with a zillion passing NB,s....
Off the tow path with rain shelter and overseer present.......
Moored up by Shebdon with Wharf Inn Pub not 75 metres away, hope they show some Rugby in the morning....

Not Much......
Been taking it pretty easy last few days, weathers been a bit changeable, starts off fine then showers and yesterday the wind increased to blow about 40mph by late afternoon. Today started out mild and I knew it was going to be a good day, a sure sign when your flag is limp on the pole. Done a few locks and enjoyed the nice weather....
The wind yesterday was only good for one thing......
Dog/Pup of the day on the towpath, 12 weeks old and a miniature labradoodle.....
Nice Canal art on a 7yr old boat that's just been fully repainted....... 1st locks SCRAAAAATTTCCHHH........ OOOHHHH...
Walking the towpath we were approaching another NBer who was fishing off the towpath ,he pointed for us to look back and there were 3 planes in formation, to far away to get a photo but he said they were a Lancaster Bomber, Spitefire and Hurricane. They must have been doing a flypast at an airshow not to far away. Talked to him for about an hour, very interesting on a lot of different subjects. Interesting things happen on the towpath..
Tomorrow more sun.....hopefully......
