MayDay....... MayDay....

By the time we cast our moorings, 10.47am, to head for the water point the sun was already causing havoc with these Poms complexion. Must have been close to 30 I reckon today.

After filling up we made a plan to head for Kings Norton junction to give the batteries a charge and the serviced motor a gallop.

Leaving Gas St, the canal soon enters wooded cuttings, in fact most of the way to the junction is visually ok but there are no mooring spots so even if you want to say visit the Edgbaston  Botannical Gardens, 15 acres, it's really not possible from the canal, Bad Bad....

The sun was blazing and we passed some trip boats returning with the punters......

Turning into Gas Street... Even with the early start see the clear sky....

Easy does it along Gas St,.......

The First Mate decided to ward off Scurvy passing through Edgbaston Tunnel....

Then the Captain passed over steering so he could eat Pork Scratchings,  then the nessesary drink....

The canal passes the Birmingham University......

A couple of NB,s moored on the University  moorings.....   This one.....

An experimental project....  the writing tells all.....

On our return and about 2 mile from Gas St, a NB was moored in a bridge hole, Leonie was walking the tow path so approached the skipper, turned out to be a restaurant boat we had passed earlier, and he said a whole tyre had attached  itself to the propeller causing damage and it's a No Go...

Can you give us a tow.....

There was about 50 people aboard and after a little "Grunt" we got moving.
It towed OK but pushed the stern around when cornering....

Just like the "Titanic"  the band played on. In this case you can see they're still buying Spirits at the bar....... For Christs Sake I wasn't even Speeding...

Back through the Edgbaston Tunnel....

Into the city,  had a couple of NB keeping well clear....

LH 90 degree turn into Gas St,  took them all the way to their mooring, the punters stepped off, pleased no doubt they didn't have a few extra  hours out in the hot sun....

I'm thinking, Restaurant boat, Bar, Hot As Day, One beer wouldn't be bad.... A Dude approaches whom acted like the Boss and says,  "thanks, bet your glad that's over"......

Yeah Rite Mate....

Good Deed done for the day....   Found a couple of beers in our fridge....

Outdoor movie tonight was Indianna Jones, Tomorrow,  Breakfast At Tiffany's, Thursday, The Goonies, Friday Leonies  pulling up a chair for..... MAMA MIA....   Saturday Shrek and Marry Poppins, Sunday, Madagascar and The Wizzard Of OZZZZ....

So many choices, more stress.......
